Nelson Rangell 2CD - "Blue" & "Red"

My biggest news is that I have recorded 2 new CDs that will be available everywhere the beginning of February. One CD is titled "Blue" and is an entire collection of flute recordings. It's a really diverse CD with everything from pop jazz originals, cool covers, uptempo "straight ahead," to jazz adaptations of well known classical pieces from Ravel, Faure and Prokofiev. I'm very proud to have Bob James on the disc, playing fantastically, as well as many other great musicians. I think people will really enjoy it. I've been wanting to do an all flute recording for my whole career. My other new CD is titled "Red" and features all saxophone tunes. I feel it's a really accessible disc and I've tried to put a lot into the playing as well. I think it's more of a contemporary pop jazz CD than a "smooth jazz" recording with a pretty fair amount of improvisation going on, but whatever the label I think my fans and new fans will enjoy it very much. Together, I hope Red and Blue will both be great new additions for people's listening.
